The FMB was established in 1941 to promote and protect small builders and is now the largest trade association in the building industry with more than 12,500 members. Its aims are to uphold the dignity, standing and reputation of the profession and craft of building and to promote professionalism and high quality workmanship among small and medium sized building firms throughout the UK. The FMB hosts ‘Master Builder of the Year’ awards annually which aim to highlight and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the UK construction industry.
In 2000 a merit award for individual skill in carpentry/joinery was awarded to Kevin by the Federation of Master Builders for the London region.
   
In 2002 Kevin was again the London regional winner for the creation of a luxury loft space in Chiswick, West London. This work was so highly regarded that it entered the National awards and Kevin was the winner of the Federation of Master Builders building excellence National award.
